About Us

If you've looked for new socks lately, you already know there are some really cool socks out there in the world. It is our mission to bring you a fun and interesting selection of socks in a variety of styles from several manufacturers (many in the U.S.). My background is in footwear and in my many years in that business I found myself drawn more to socks than shoes, so I decided to jump feet first into the sock business (pun intended). Our focus is on novelty socks for men and women, but we also offer an excellent selection of tights and leggings for women, performance socks for hiking and all kinds of adventures, as well as lots of fun socks for kids.  

The Sock Shack is located at 564 Congress Street in beautiful downtown Portland, Maine.  We're a short walk from the Old Port and enjoy being surrounded by other great specialty shops, art galleries, and cafes.  Our brick and mortar storefront is open 11-6 Monday through Saturday and 12-5 on Sundays.  

 

For the health and safety of both our customers and crew members we have hand sanitizer available upon entry. Update to mask policy 3-22: Masks are optional for fully vaccinated visitors. If unvaccinated, please mask while in the building. We have them available if you don't have one. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We have many more socks in our brick and mortar shop than are featured in our online shop but rest assured, we are always adding more and more products to our website every week.
